Congregation Shir Ami, in cooperation with Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church in Cedar Park, Texas collected new pajamas and books for disadvantaged children to benefit The Pajama Project, which distributes these items to children in need.

We capped off the drive with a pajama and storybook party at Live Oak UU. Since it was a Chanukah and Saturday evening, Rabbi Reice lead us in Havdallah and lighting Chanukah candles. Then Rabbi Reice and Reverend Crawford, wearing their holiday pajamas, read stories while attending families enjoyed milk and cookies.

Copies of Under My Pillow were donated to the Pajama Project and I read the story along with Rabbi Reice & Reverend Crawford. It was a wonderful event filled with fun cuddly pajama outfits and fantastic picture books about the holidays and yes, the tooth fairy as well. Kids loved to meet an author of an actual published book — I hope it inspires them to write their own & know that anything is possible!
